Question by ddar247: Will 13.8v dc current harm my 12v dc car audio amplifier?
I have a 13.8v dc current power supply (that actually has a cigaretter lighter plug for 12v, but i would prefer not to use) and am curious if that would damage my car audio amp if i hooked it up to the 13.8v output. thanks!

Not as long as you observe polarity and make sure the power supply is negative ground.

When your car is running, the alternator puts out as much as 16 VDC.
